Hello @johnhaverty and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Can you share a little more about your experience with bacteriophage and phage therapy? This topic has been discussed in other groups as well so some additional background would be helpful to be sure we have this in a good location! Thanks!

Thank you for contacting me. I have had successful phage therapy, the first patient at Mayo Clinic, for a prosthetic joint infection that had lasted many years. Antibiotics have been used in the past but my body is now intolerant to most of the go-to medications. Phage therapy is not yet FDA approved but in some rare cases, FDA emergency authorization can be obtained. I would be happy to discuss any aspect of the therapy. I am not a medical professional but I do have a fair knowledge of phages, how they are harvested, the purification process, and how they function against bacteria.
