Hello @mistyb and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I'm sorry to hear that you have had two years of pain without any helpful answers. It sounds like you have seen a number of orthopedic doctors. Has physical therapy ever been suggested? If not, you might consider this. If you have not seen a neurologist, this might also be an important specialist to consult with.

There are also doctors who specialize in chronic pain. Mayo Clinic has a chronic pain clinic and there might be one near you as well. Chronic pain clinics are usually found at larger medical centers, but not at your typical community hospitals. You might search for one in your area if Mayo Clinic is not convenient for you.

Finally, here is a link to an article about Ischial Bursitis that was mentioned in another post, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK482285/ please feel free to read this information and see if it applies to your pain situation.

I'd like to invite @rwinney, to this conversation as well. She has visited the chronic pain clinic at Mayo and she might have some suggestions for you.

Hello and welcome to the Connect community @mistyb. Thank you for joining the conversation and providing your 2 year experience of uncomfortable symptoms. I understand how frustrated you must be.

@hopeful33250 provided valuable information. I'd also like to know what other specialists you've seen and what's been ruled out. Sometimes the process of elimination, leaves us with things we may not necessarily be able to fix, but allows us to understand what we must learn to manage.

I have a chronic pain syndrome called Central Sensitization Syndrome (CSS). I attended Mayo's 3 week Pain Rehabilitation Center to learn how to manage my symptoms. Also, I weaned off pain medications that were not doing me any favors. I did however remain on a nerve medication, pregabalin (Lyrica).

May I ask how you currently manage your pain?

Hi I'd like to suggest another suggestion. 5 years ago my girlfreind broke her tailbone 1 year after accident she was still having pain when she sits down all of her doctors said with tailbone you will always have pain sitting down. She then went to a chiropractor for another issue shoulder pain and chiropractor told her the tailbone breakage had built up scare tissue which was the cause of pain the chiropractor gave her some excercises to strech the tissues and after a few months pain was gone good luck
