Transplant: Swimming pool okay?

Not sure anyone knows the definitive answer to this but your transplant team. A quick message on the patient portal might get you the information you need. I know for my situation, I’m strongly cautioned to avoid any non-chlorinated water such as lakes, rivers, ocean, ponds. Sigh…
I’m also cautioned to avoid spas or hot tubs unless I know it’s been well treated and water kept clean in spite of the chlorine. Fortunately for me, I love being around water but not in it. LOL. I do I miss wading through the surf in the gulf though. Your situation might be totally different!

Thank you @loribmt I always appreciate your very detailed responses! I just sent a message in the portal to my Case Manager to confirm my understanding that a chlorinated pool is the one safe place for me to swim. I live in South Florida and have access to a nice private pool, but this will be my first swim post-transplant…. It always makes me nervous the first time I try anything after the transplant. 🙂
