Robotic Assisted Partial Nephrectomy Recovery
I’m having a Bosniak III cyst removed. I was told that If all goes without complications, I would be going home within 2-4 hours after the procedure. However, Everything I’ve researched states that a 1-2 day hospital stay is the normal recovery time after a robotic assisted partial nephrectomy. Is there anyone that could shed light on this? Thank you.

Hi @cando63, I think @granny50846 @trishanna @nnimblett may have experience to share about recovery after a partial nephrectomy. I'm not sure if they had the robotic assisted version, however.
I also checked a few trusted websites and see that after surgery it is expected that you'll stay 1 to 3 days before being discharged. If you are going home same day, do you have someone to stay with you overnight?
I will check the links you included. I will have my wife with me if sent home the same day. The soonest release period that I have come across in my research so far was POD 1 ( 24 hrs. After procedure). Still a little nervous about the 3-4 hrs. Post surgery release time. But, I do trust my surgeon. Thank you for your quick response!
I had a Robotic partial nephrectomy on 6/20 to remove a 4cmm complex cyst. The procedure itself took about three hours. I was told that normally patients are observed through the night with a release date the next day. I was released on The afternoon of the 23rd and am glad that my medical team kept me the additional time in which my drain and catheter were removed and my purse ox stabilized, Today, being my first full day out of the hospital was slow going but I have not been on pain meds since my release and the gas injected into my stomach during the procedure is working it's way out. The picture was taken yesterday after my release, and the wounds are looking good. My wife was my ride home after,
@mannychavez67, that’s fantastic that surgery and recovery is going so well. It’s been about a week since your last post. How are things today?
