What's outside of your picture window today?

As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what's going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?

For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:
– 500 x 335 pixels (landscape)
– 210 x 210 pixels (square)

Absolutely crazy. I would love to have the woods and goodies you enjoy daily. I'd love the joy of the woods and learning about the mosses and mushrooms, but I do believe I'd have to stop short of eating the first one. I have determination, think I'm pretty darn strong, but there's no way I'd chance eating something growing. Brave, nuts going on really nuts. Love you all, but nuts! Istn's it dangerous to eat any of them? I understand many look like, or close, and cane easily be confused....Enjoy. Blessings, elizaeth

Some people try learning it from a book, I think that might be risky. But I never hear of anyone getting sick or dying from mushrooms here, so I guess it must work out.😳

Some people try learning it from a book, I think that might be risky. But I never hear of anyone getting sick or dying from mushrooms here, so I guess it must work out.😳

We’ve grown several types of mushrooms from kits. That’s fun and also yummy! I’m really only sure of two types that I’m comfortable enough picking in the wild and eating. But I know there are so many around us in the woods that are edible.
There’s a naturalist in my hometown who gives lectures and takes people for ‘shroom expeditions. I’d love to hang around with him sometime to learn more. I’m betting you have a university extension office around who has educational material on mushrooms or there’s a lot online. I also have an Audubon book of fungus…just for a quick reference. I just like taking the pics. There are so many odd ones. There’s a Ravenel’s stink horn pick I’d love to post but it really looks inappropriate. 😂

These are not @loribmt off color mushroom, but we call them funny fungi, as kids some people brewed them into tea as a hallucinogenic. This is not my photo. Just an image from the internet.

Aren’t they pretty. I’ve seen a couple of those on my walks too. They’re Fly Ageric mushrooms. My mushroom book says poisonous. No frying pan and butter for you!

Oh! You can tell I lived a very sheltered, somewhat naive life and no 'fun' stuff as a kid. Missed a lot, I'm beginning to understand.
Don't feel well today. Please send me some 'funny' mushrooms asap. I need them..

Thanks. Sinuses hurt, see surgeon Tues. Mostly having video conf now pwe rheum., reminding me to keep isolated due to my lack of immunity protection. No treatment till after surgery. Needs biopsy. Infected bone and more. Not in flare now re Vasculitis, but have it, will wait to treat va. After see what biopsy shows. No kidney biopsy now. Lungs look good, some scarring, etc. Breathing issues now due to upper resp. Dizzy, weak, fatigue severe, etc. Yuck!

@loribmt Tired. Must get meds for son. Then to bed asap. Have moved all meds to local family owned pharmacy used by Mayo for transplant patients and deliver. They are setting up my meds for a month, in pill boxes. Will deliver in person any new m ed or whatever I need. This is wonderful hope Rob sees how it works and we can set up his the same. Then, I can stop overseeing his meds. Z GLORY. Really need to stop.pulling back from son, have too, but tough. He must get help from others. Hope this med thing works egg is. Elizabeth
