Great question. I am also aware that I had to present my medical insurance cards when I first registered. I have no answer for this.

I asked the pharmacist that very same question. She said that the insurance is billed first. The Federal Grant does pay for anyone without insurance. There should be no cost to the recipient.
My non-acceptance was due to a technical tissue where the insurance had not entered the updated 3rd vaccination approval.

-Bottom line is - WooHoo, I got the vaccination and have only had a 'first day "1 -Tylenol" arm discomfort.
