Has anyone used CBD oil or anything similar for use in relieving Neuropathy?

I have been using CBD made here from cannabis and am told that it is much better than CBD made from hemp. This CBD contains about 5% THC, not enough to notice. Its relieves the pins/needles feeling in my feet.

Do you have a specific name brand.. it is legal in Alaska so maybe I could find. I do use cannabis also as it helps calm the neuropathy. Thank you for your post.

I have severe neuropathic pain toes to knees and hands. I began on gabapentin, then my doctor tried tried several adjunctive medicines. Gabapentin, no matter the doses, did no more that make me tired. We tried Cymbalta in a similar manner, but I was have memory problems. I tried another medication that really reduced pain, but again side effects. After years of podiatrist, family doctor, neurologists and pain specialist, I found acceptable relief with Lyrica and a mild prescription pain reliever. Now, I have good days, bad days, good hours and bad ones, but I am tolerating the pain. I know that maximising Lyrica dosage or changing to an opioid pain reliever could give more relief and more side effects. My plantar fasciitis and neuropathy required many trials until I found what works best for me. Gabapentin seems to be the got-to first medication because of minimal side effects and low price, but it is not necessarily the best for you.

I realize this is a rather late response to an old post but it might help dckuke or someone else who’s having both PN and plantar fasciitis. I see a reflexologist once or twice a week and she really works hard on my feet… Ouch! But it really helps. I gimp in and walk out. She’s been doing reflexology for years so if you see one find one with experience.

My husband has the same thing, painful pn and plantar fasciitis and arthritis. He gets acupuncture along with Gabapentin, smallest dose of doxipene at night and tramadol for really bad days after he walks several miles. Also used topical creams several times a day along with percussive therapy.

You have it backwards. Hemp plants contain much more CBD than cannabis plants and CBD obtained from Hemp from what I’ve read is better for pain relief. I use an product from Ilera Healthcare that is CBD:THC 10:1 and I just increased it to 3 times a day from once and I’ve noticed an increased in my pain control, reducing my PRN oxycodone to 3x day from 4x day. I'm a chronic pain patient who's trying to control my pain just like you. The plus for cannabis CBD is it must be tested by a state sanctioned lab to ascertain that the material in it is safe. I'm not certain that CBD from hemp is tested like this due to cost. Yes CBD is not covered by insurance but my pain control is more important to me.

Is there a CBD that's tolerable for ppl with hypersensitivity issues? I am new to all things CBD - I have used hemp oil in the past for healing cuts/bruises which really worked, but I am concerned about having to rub anything on my skin bc it will spike my nausea and nerve reactions. Where should one start with this?

Good evening @rivermaya34 Hi Karen, I am responding to your request for information about CBD. It is pretty difficult to predict your sensitivity to CBD. Unfortunately, funds for research on CBD are hard to come by because of the current Federal law which prohibits cannabis in some states. As soon as legalization becomes country-wide, we have to pretty much do our own testing.

I use both tinctures and topical balms to fight neuropathy pain and annoying neuropathic itch. Even when you eliminate the entourage effect of adding THC to CBD there can still be issues. Here are a couple of companies that have been very good for me over the last five years as I sought help for neuropathy from medical cannabis. There is research on Papa and Barkley, as well as CBD without THC and CBD with different ratios of THC. I started with 3:1 CBD:THC. I now use CBD: THC 2:1 for nighttime sleep and a
CBD: THC 3:1 for a relief topical. The P and B site has good, honest information. Leafy is another site with accurate guidelines and explanations.

What is your most urgent need or treatment?

May you be safe, protected, and free of inner and outer harm.

Chris
