← Return to Shingles Vaccine (Shingrix): Is it advisable for transplant patients?

I felt like I had the flu for a week—weak, tired, nausea, achy. But I was pretty sick with liver disease and was also getting several other vaccinations around that time. It is pretty common though I think to have a mild reaction with the shingles vaccinations. Although as with everything, we all react differently!

I do eat cooked shrimp…but sadly no more scampi or cold shrimp. I don’t care for scallops, but I don’t see why not if they’re cooked and from a reputable restaurant or shop, same thing with lobster. Unagi (eel) sushi is awesome though and I do it because it’s cooked!

But, I would ask the wise food guru of the transplant world @loribmt to chime in with her insights…

I think we should start a cooking for transplant recipients Zoom series…I bet it would be popular!

@athenalee I love the idea of "Cooking for Transplant Recipients" series! Question- what's in "scampi" that's bad for us....is there something raw in the scampi sauce?" Any other sauces that are a no-no? As always, thank you!!

@athenalee I LOVE your idea of a cooking Zoom gathering. Perhaps even once a month?
