Hi @athenalee
When you say you had a reaction to the Shingrix vaccine, can you please elaborate? I have that shot coming up and I would like to be prepared! 🙂
Thank you! Also, unrelated question...as a transplant do you eat cooked shellfish like shrimp, scallops, lobster, etc...or are they not the best for us? Thanks again

I felt like I had the flu for a week—weak, tired, nausea, achy. But I was pretty sick with liver disease and was also getting several other vaccinations around that time. It is pretty common though I think to have a mild reaction with the shingles vaccinations. Although as with everything, we all react differently!

I do eat cooked shrimp…but sadly no more scampi or cold shrimp. I don’t care for scallops, but I don’t see why not if they’re cooked and from a reputable restaurant or shop, same thing with lobster. Unagi (eel) sushi is awesome though and I do it because it’s cooked!

But, I would ask the wise food guru of the transplant world @loribmt to chime in with her insights…

I think we should start a cooking for transplant recipients Zoom series…I bet it would be popular!
