upset caregiver: what do these results mean?
My spouse was diagnosed with Throat cancer 2 years ago. Since then has been Cancer free, hasn't missed any of the post check ups. Had a ct scan a week and it came back with a small nodule in the lungs. Has a pt scan and cant get the results for another 10 days. I saw the results......"impressions" 1.5 cm spiculated nodule upper lobe intensely hypermetabolic consistent with pulmanary metastines.
2. a smaller 5mm nodule along right major fissure also suspicious.
3.Mild activity w\a nonenlarged mediastinal node and both hilar regions nonspecific-maybe reactive vs metastic.
3.Hypermetabolic activity is noted in a testicle. More testing is needed.
4.hypermetmetabolic activity associated with peribronical vascular ground glass opacification which is likely inflammatory or infectious. No hypermetabolic activity in the throat.
Is this good or bad news?

I think I'm as ready as I can be. If its not benign, I will be very unhappy. The dr is to call in 30 min. Got my questions ready. I have to ask them.
I will definitely be a mess after the results of biopsy. So yes I'm ready. He knows how much Love him. Thanks for being here for me.
of course
Dr. Called she's quite concerned about the spot. Seemed to appear fast. We are to meet with a lung specialist Friday. She said all he might need is surgery, won't know for sure till Friday
.
Scared2, I know this is very scary. The unknown always is. But you can take confidence that your doctor is on top of this. I wish you strength for Friday's appointment. If there's anything you don't understand, be sure to ask questions. I find it helpful to repeat back the main points that I need to remember. This helps me to commit it to memory better, plus it let's the doctor see how I have understood the information and they can correct anything I didn't understand correctly.
Do you bring notepad and pen to the appointments? I do, but I'm not very good at taking notes during the appointment. But at least I have it to write things down right afterwards, sometimes I do it right there in the waiting room. My final questions at all appointments are:
What are our next steps?
Who can I call if I have any questions that I didn't think to ask?
His appt is next Friday. I had my questions already wrote down when she called. Always bring a note book. And two boxes of kleenex. I don't think my brain is fully excepting yet. It could be because its not a 100% sure yet. Till after the biopsy, then it hit like a ton of bricks again. I try to be strong, but I'm the weak link in a chain
