Has anyone tried stem cell therapy in lieu of TKR? What’s the success/failure rate? I am in my 70’s and too sedentary to go thru TKR and concerned about metal hypersensitivity. Looking for ways to avoid seirgery. My pain is quite manageable, half knee bone on bone; some scattered arthritis on other side plus under knee cap. Dr won’t perform partial for those reasons…

Hello @montykona2

Here is some information on how Mayo Clinic is using regenerative therapy in place of knee replacement, https://www.mayoclinic.org/medical-professionals/orthopedic-surgery/news/novel-stem-cell-therapy-for-repair-of-knee-cartilage/mac-20450891

@montykona2 Have you discussed this type of treatment with your doctor?

Hi Monty, I'd like to add my welcome. I moved your question to this existing discussion about stem therapy for knee regeneration. I did this so you can easily connect with fellow members like @winning @lynettegable @dixieorleans @mari @cobweb @danielad @scsm @anniebrook and others. I encourage to read through the past posts to learn from the experience of others along with the information the @hopeful33250 provided.

I would like to know pharmacy. I will see drs in Cedars soon.
