My wife and I both take 2 scoops of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides with our morning coffee daily. She used to have terrible nails and has noticed a great improvement since we've been taking it more than a year now. It's helped my nails and skin also but I still bruise easily from thin skin. My nails are not as brittle as they use to be and look healthier.
Hello,
I have been taking the LiveWell brand of collagen peptides (grass fed and pasture raised) with 19 amino acids for about a year and a half.
I put a scoop in my coffee every day. I have seen a difference in skin and hair. My nails were always strong.
Nice to know that it helps osteoporosis (which I have) . I don’t have any joint pain but used to get occasional right hip aches or pain and have not had any in a very long while. The collagen is in addition to supplements like curcumim, B complex plus, D3, Synergy K (all from Pure Encapsulations) and magnesium glycinate at night. I am conscious of what I eat.
I am not on any osteoporosis drugs but attend 3 senior gym classes a week, walk 2 to 2.5 miles daily and have a routine at night.
I am 80 and I feel great (except the Florida humidity just wipes me out).
The gym classes focus a lot on balance, stretching and strength with some cardio. I do core at night. Our gym teacher who is 81 and in great shape doesn’t want any of us to fall. I have seen too many deaths in my class in the past 8 years that I have been attending and gone to too many funerals…so many of them from falls.
My routine , diet and supplements work for me but I am always interested to read what others are doing.
Stay strong ladies….and gentlemen.

I have osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, recently broke my dominate wrist and required plates and pins. My osteo surgeon prescibed 1000 ml /day vitC along with the collagen I take to increase collagen to support my bones in healing. My hair and nails are benefitting.
May I ask, which brand/type of collagen peptide are you using?
Thank you for your input. The brand of collagen you are taking with all 5 types. Thank you and continued health.
What rand of collagen do you use?
Would love to get some info on the best collagen products or sources. Thanks
Which collagen with five did you choose. I'm in the process of shopping for one and there are so many!!!!
I have advanced osteoporosis (-5.1 T Score) at age 72, so I have made radical changes to diet and lifestyle. The first collagen I took was Applied Nutrition liquid collagen (Costco). I had to trust it was helping my bones, but the astounding thing was within days the arthritis in my fingers was no longer painful. There had been years of wearing compression gloves at night, using a mitt that I kept frozen to ease the pain, etc. There was no longer tightness in the morning and the pain was gone. So, hopefully, the bones are benefitting too. I alternate between the liquid collagen and one I order from Dr. McCormick, whom I consulted for osteoporosis. His product is Osteonaturals.
Glad to hear from someone taking collagen. I bought some and took it only a couple of times but you have encouraged me to get it out and start taking it again in the morning and hopefully kept it up for four months or more. Thanks for the push. I assume 761/2 means 1944?
