Hi @bdelsignore, welcome. I haven't heard about COVID infection affecting metabolism. However, a Google search revealed that there may be a link between metabolic syndrome and higher risk of infection and more severe complications.
In this study COVID-19 and metabolic syndrome: could diet be the key? https://ebm.bmj.com/content/26/1/1, researchers state:
"Two-thirds of people in the UK who have fallen seriously ill with COVID-19 were overweight or obese and 99% of deaths in Italy have been in patients with pre-existing conditions, such as hypertension, diabetes and heart disease. These conditions, collectively known as metabolic syndrome, are linked to impaired immune function, and more severe symptoms and complications from COVID-19."

bsd, did you have metabolic syndrome before? Is it possible that you have hit a temporary plateau in your diet and weight loss regimen?

Thank you for your response. No, I did not have metabolic syndrome prior to COVID infection. I had no other pre-existing conditions. I had wondered if I had hit a temporary plateau; however, 8 months is a long time to not see any movement in weight. I will check with the Low Carb, Healthy Fat group.
