Toe Nail Pain
I am 67 years old, for the past 10 years I had had big toe nail problems on both feet, what will happen is they will get really sore at the same time where I cant stand to wear shoes because it makes it hurt worse. So I start cutting both toe nails completely off. It hurts a little and it take them about 2-3 weeks to heal then they don’t hurt again until my toe nail has grown out about 1/4 of an inch. Then it starts over. What could be the reason! In the pictures I had just soaked my feet and have cream medicine on them! Should I have they surgically removed?

@geetergirl I think your best bet is to consult a podiatrist. This is their area of specialty with all sorts of foot and toe nail issues. If there are toes that point odd directions and your shoes don't have much room in them, it may be that the ends of your toenails are running into the shoes at a certain length. That has happened to my mom. Podiatrists can also help with things like orthotics, and some sell shoes. It's common for people with diabetes to need special shoes, so that is why podiatrists sell them for their patients. I'm not suggesting you have that, just explaining why there are special more roomy shoes. Toe nails serve as protection for your toes to being stepped on so they belong there.
@geetergirl, I completely agree with @jenniferhunter. It would be wise to consult with a specialist podiatrist. You may also be interested in this related discussion:

Surgery may be an option for you, but you and your doctor should discuss. What started this issue 10 years ago? It looks terribly painful.
