Hello @kathyma, Welcome to Connect, an online community where patients and caregivers share their experiences, find support and exchange information with others. I know it must be difficult and a little scary to learn your son has an underlying condition and there are so many unknowns. I think it is a really good thing that it was diagnosed early. You will notice that I added a little more information to your discussion title so that others with some experience can find it and share what they have learned with you. While we wait for others to share experiences or information, you might find the following information helpful.

-- What is Left Ventricular Non-Compaction Cardiomyopathy (LVNC)?: https://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/service/c/cardiomyopathy/types/left-ventricular-non-compaction-cardiomyopathy
-- Left Ventricular Trabeculations in Athletes: https://www.acc.org/latest-in-cardiology/articles/2015/03/26/07/47/left-ventricular-trabeculations-in-athletes
-- Left Ventricular Non-Compaction (LVNC) in Children: https://upbeat.org/pediatrics/left-ventricular-non-compaction-lvnc-in-children

Did the cardiologist share any advice or suggestions as what symptoms to look for with your son?

Thank you !

Yes, she said if he experience shortness of breath, feels fatigued, and faints then to contact her right away.

Otherwise, just annual check up and follow ups.
