Has anyone had a tight band feeling after total knee replacement?
I am 8 weeks post TKR and have had this very tight band around my knee since week one. My Dr at 6 wks says it is normal and will go away. Has anyone else had this and did it go away and when?

So I'm wondering.............................has anyone EVER got rid of this feeling? And what did you do that worked? I don't want to hear it went away on its own.
Doctors just love to make money!

It’s been two years since my TKR.Still have ITBand .Somewhat better.I’ve worked hard and done everything im supposed to.Got a second opinion recently. He said everything looks great.Good surgery and healing. That was a relief. He said you can’t stretch out the ITBand . He explained that there are muscles that can take the pressure off the band .He sent me to the PT he works with. She’s so knowledgeable. She said the same thing. We’re going to develop these muscles to relieve the ITBAND.Makes sense.I’m beginning to feel relief already after only a few days. And it’s stuff I can do at home.
Are you able to tell us what exercise we can do to relieve the tight band please

Sidelying Clam ,Bridge with a belt ,
Gastoc Stretch, something called a FP Core L1 ( side to side stretch while standing)
I am going to speak with my PT about this. Thanks Billcm
It may be my imagination but I think it’s helping after only a week
The sidelying clam is also with a belt .Neither is done with a band
Both are with a belt
Yes. I'm a little over one year TKR and still have the tight band feeling. I also have arthrofibrosis (dammit) which I suspect is the cause of my tight band feeling. I don't know this for certain, but I believe it to be true. Good luck!
Hi @deedar, I am having TKR surgery one week from today. I would like to know how to avoid arthrofibrosis this time. Last time, I developed it and had to have it resolved with MFR, myofascial release therapy. What has been your solution?
May you be free of pain and discomfort.
