I am stage four and was diagnosed in May, 2013. My first chemo treatment was sunitinib and it was effective for about five years. Then, the lesions began expanding and my oncologist switched me to an immunotherapy treatment called Opdivo, which appeared to be ineffective, so he switched to cabosantinib . The side effects were severe and I elected to go into hospice. Even though this meant I was giving up on pharmaceutical treatment all together, I felt so much better, I stayed on it until my doctor called to let me know there is a new drug on the market that is a combination chemotherapy and pharmaceutical that has been shown to be effective on the cancers I am dealing with. I am awaiting the drug due to it coming through the V A.
Hola, cual es el nombre del nuevo tratamiento?

Hola @mrodriguezc.
I hope that @jimchardy returns to answer your question about the treatment he is on. I believe he was referring to either avelumab (BAVENCIO) in combination with axitinib (inlyta)
https://www.fda.gov/drugs/resources-information-approved-drugs/fda-approves-avelumab-plus-axitinib-renal-cell-carcinoma
Or with avelumab with Keytruda (Pembrolizumab)
How are you doing?
