Recipes, Food Tips, Healthy Eating & More
Some of the members of the Gratitude Discussion Group were interested in having a place to share recipes and food ideas. I’m hoping that we can use this thread as a place to have that kind of discussion. I’d love to hear your ideas for quick meals, comfort food, healthy snacks, and more.
Personally, I’ve just been through a bad reaction to one of my medications that left me with a very queasy stomach. I would love to hear ideas – or recipes – that might be used when you need to get something on your stomach, but don’t want to overdo it.
Hopefully, this thread will even be a place where we can share recipes for special treats and yummy rewards. It doesn’t always have to be healthy!
I’d love to hear from members who have been part of other discussions AND from new members who have good ideas, recipes and food tips to share. I’m excited to see who might start us off here with an awesome food suggestion!

Sweet...like you....all the blends of all the different ingredients have just a hint of the other tastes..it still basically tastes like chocolate.
You would.be pleasantly surprised...well maybe not you lol.

I better get on the ball and get my candy ordered I just called them and they were closed but there was a recording saying they were closing July 1 and re-opened August 2. Apparently they close in July every year.

@migizii. To jump in the chocolate/coffee talk🤪 I am a DARK CHOCOLATE/UNSWEETENED ICE TEA FAN all the way!!!!!
@jakedduck1 🤣 Ah, Jake, my fellow chocolate lover. I feel the same about milk chocolate as you do dark. I grew up with a mother who craved chocolate. She’d have Hershey bars and hide ‘em from me!! No need because I hated them! They were too sweet and left me with a horrible mouth feel. I avoided chocolate except I loved Butterfinger’s, Baby Ruth and Reese’s.
I first had dark chocolate when I was in my 20s and a business associate of my husbands brought back Belgium chocolate. My eyes were opened!! I was hooked. (Angels singing. LOL) I’ve spent years searching for the best dark chocolate and range from 70% to 85% depending on the quality of the bar. I don’t like bitter, astringent chocolate that tastes like…burned rubber! I don’t drink coffee so we have that in common. Though I do love the aroma of coffee.
You never fail to have me laughing out loud!
They do! And they won’t send any chocolate if it’s too hot outside. They value the quality of their chocolate and don’t want that to suffer in the heat. Also a note, it is pricey to ship but it usually arrives in 1-2 days and is well packed.
Ohhh I forgot to mention that to Jake…that I’m am unsweetened ice tea fan! And Dark chocolate all the way! Happy to see another sane person. Giggle.
The curry pistachio is really a great bar. Also there is one called the Slow Burn. Another favorite of mine. It’s a blend of Vietnamese cinnamon, medium hot cayenne, and deep, dark chocolate. The spices heighten the dark chocolate flavor, while the dark chocolate adds depth to the spices.
Oh wow, yes, dark chocolate with sea salt! Yum. Ok I have gained like 5 pounds in this conversation. LOL. Time to walk some of this off!
@loribmt
I checked out their website and it looks delicious!

Yay A dark chocolate lover! Over indulging on these beauties is why I like chocolate that comes in squares. I don’t buy Costco’s heavenly Bark Thins with pistachios anymore because of all the different size pieces….was eating way too many. I don’t even go near that section of the store anymore. But sometimes I just need 2 squares. I’ll have to find the Slow Burn.
When I made chocolate cake in the past I always added a strong brewed coffee into the batter in place of any water….cake didn’t last long.
