Recipes, Food Tips, Healthy Eating & More

Some of the members of the Gratitude Discussion Group were interested in having a place to share recipes and food ideas. I’m hoping that we can use this thread as a place to have that kind of discussion. I’d love to hear your ideas for quick meals, comfort food, healthy snacks, and more.

Personally, I’ve just been through a bad reaction to one of my medications that left me with a very queasy stomach. I would love to hear ideas – or recipes – that might be used when you need to get something on your stomach, but don’t want to overdo it.

Hopefully, this thread will even be a place where we can share recipes for special treats and yummy rewards. It doesn’t always have to be healthy!

I’d love to hear from members who have been part of other discussions AND from new members who have good ideas, recipes and food tips to share. I’m excited to see who might start us off here with an awesome food suggestion!

I have a question.
I'm going to attempt to make corned beef & cabbage.
Does anybody know what Guinness is?

my biological mother was from Belfast Ireland! Be sure to purchase a flat cut brisket, not a point cut.

I just found out it's beer. I guess most people know that. I don't know anything about spirits. Corned beef cooked in beer & brown sugar, go figure. Sugar, might be good at that, next time.

No, but I'm trying to be good. Please don't tempt me - I am saving myself for a trip to my husband's hometown this weekend, where there is a terrific confectioner just a few miles away.

Obviously I don't consider eating candy or other delicious confections on a daily basis as bad. Actually, I believe they do me more good than the so-called healthy food I eat.
Enjoy all the goodies at the confectionery shop. Well, speaking of....and since I was taught to talk with my mouth full, goodbye and have a fantastic day.

Hi Leonard,

I just took a look at Mrs. Cavanaugh's Chocolates website. I was really tempted by the Cremes without nuts, that would undoubtedly be my order. Have you ordered any? If so, what is your favorite?

Hello,
No, not yet but going to get me some of everything. I forgot the name but the brown sugar & fudge, Carmel & marshmallows are a few of my very favorites. I love creams but I love all candy.
I'm going to get some sugarless for my cousin.
I don't like mint but if I'm in a hotel and they put one on my pillow or at a restaurant and they bring one lets just say they don't get given or thrown away.
Right now I'd like some Rocky Road & Vanilla Fudge & if I didn't mind cooking I'd make some divinity. I hope someone comes along who has had some.
