What's outside of your picture window today?

As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what's going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?

For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:
– 500 x 335 pixels (landscape)
– 210 x 210 pixels (square)

Good afternoon @avmcbellar and @artist01, You made my ears perk up with your posts about the benefit of pets. Even Mayo Clinic has a lady who brings therapy dogs to the cancer center every day or so. I can remember the dog's name...."Hannah". Beautifully trained and so loved.

I was in love with Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and had 3 of them. Two of them went through AKC therapy dog training and began visiting my Dad and other patients. The other one needed therapy himself as he was a rescue and still frightened.

If I close my eyes I can still see the joy on my Dad's face when I came in with "Roxie". He hadn't spoken in about five years but his smile said it all. Unfortunately, after an hour of being petter rhythmically, "Roxie" would look at me in desperation as if to say......Can we go now."

It may be worth trying again to engage the support of the residents.

@artscaping Hi Chris. Ah yes, Therapy Dogs are more important than most folks (and non-dog-person administrators) realize. Our weekly visit was from the very noble and lovable Golden Lab, "Ford" , with his handler, Maggie.
I was involved with CKC dog shows for several years so am very familiar with those awesome Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Lucky you, being owned by three of them. And I can certainly see Roxie's pleading "can we go now" look after a long petting session. Ford showed exactly the same demeanor after a lengthy visit!

@avmcbellar. I finally had success in showing off my little dog! What I finally did was (again) "Clear History", and then, as a new move, "Update All Apps"!! Stubbornness pays off!!
We have a serious record-breaking heatwave going on in British Columbia right now. Up to 104 degrees Fahrenheit every day, and continuing for the next week. We've already had 4 or 5 days of it. Pretty unbearable. And every day, they've been saying "Hotter tomorrow". Maybe that's why my Samsung and I were at odds today. Lol.

@artist01 fantastic, you were determined! What a great picture of Spike. He is adorable! You said he was a Yorkie Chihuahua mix? I can see the Yorkie Terrier in him. So cute at 12 lbs. I have my Chihuahua mix. Doesn’t take much to care for him at 10 lbs. Can you share the care of a small dog with another resident? Is a traveling veterinarian available where you live? Perhaps you can share the burden of owning a small dog with a neighbor.

@avmcbellar. Hello again. I seem to be having a marathon posting session 🙃 and really have to thank you, as well as @loribmt, @sueinmn, and @johnbishop for the photo posting assistance today.
I had my little Spike from 2001 to 2015, and friends took him into their loving home when I first had to resort to living in a senior care facility as my health issues became overwhelming. That picture of Spike was actually taken when my friends snuck him in as an illegal visitor! He passed away of a stroke in 2016 in the care of my friends. I wish I'd been with him at the time.

Hi Chris @artscaping my neighbor had a new King Charles Cavalier puppy when she had wanted my dog then to play with him. Your beautiful dog pictured reminded me of him. I agree try again to find the support for having pets.

Loons at sunset! Two babies this year. Hopefully they stay safe with their protective parents. Threats from above with eagles and threats from below with hungry Muskies makes their little lives a challenge for survival.

@loribmt. Yep, Lori, I've GOT this! Hahaha. (Not!) I tried to send 2 pics of my visiting son and daughter-in-law after the great success I finally had downloading the picture of my loyal little warrior, but again, I failed miserably. Put it down to the 104 degree heatwave we're suffering this week. At least I had the sense to quit after one failure. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow.
I'm so happy you like the pic of The Spikester, and he ALWAYS tried to live up to his big-dog name (but not the mean part.) He was about as small as a hamster when I first got him, so his name was hilariously appropriate.
