Low T-Cell - Bone Marrow Biopsy
Hi,
I am 31 year old and just had a bone marrow biopsy. After 4 months of tests : MRI (Brain, Abdomen), CT Scan (Thorax, Throat) and very detailed blood test at the hematologist including autoimmune disease, HIV, tropical diseases, viruses nothing was found.
The only symptoms I have is slightly enlarged spleen, on and off chest and throat discomfort/cough, extreme tiredness in the morning. One day I feel fine, one day I don't feel great. It feels like "something is getting activated" except the tiredness remain constant.
Since the T-Cell are extremely low but everything else is perfectly fine (pallets, red blood cells, immunoglobulin, protein levels) they are not "TOO" worried about cancer but they still wanted to rule it out with a bone marrow examination. I am extremely worried and I can't sleep, thinking I might have cancer.
If you have any opinions, advices or tips, I would highly appreciated.
Maria

You have my deepest empathy. That’s a bone chilling cold which I’ve experienced a few times during my intensive chemotherapy. I’m so sorry that this is a chronic condition for you. Sending a warm hug! Lori.
Hi Cathy, what type of transplants did you have? Bone marrow transplant?
to add on to the Pancytopenia: Just came home this afternoon from the hospital from terrible heart pains. 911 works well After three days and a stress test and another one was told not heart attack. The pains went on for about It seems it could be from the anemia because if the heart does ot get enough oxygen from the blood this can happen. The cardiologists dismissed me when I suggested this which is in the medical books. Who knows? Again: The Shadow knows. The pains went on for about 15 hours.
Thank you. Peach
Hello @peach414144
I'm so sorry to hear that you were hospitalized with chest pains. I'm sure you were relieved that you did not have a heart attack.
How does your medical team plan on treating the anemia?
Peach, my goodness, you could be writing your own “Misadventures in Medicine” book! Those chest pains had to be horribly frightening. I’m relieve for you that it wasn’t a heart attack…and also sorry you felt dismissed again by your doctors.
I’d never had that happen to me until 2 years ago. To not be taken seriously is disrespectful as well as frustrating…and leaves you feeling so helpless! We know our bodies better than anyone and have to be our own advocates. But getting someone to listen is another thing…. I hope you feel better tonight! Peace…Lori.
Thank you Teresa. My medical team consists of a cancer doctor (oncologist). My blood is tested monthly. Nothing helps, whether it be b-12 pills or shots, and others. Seems only watching for symptoms and trying their best. I think more discoveries should be attempted, research, whatever. Since September 2020 through December 2020 I have been admitted into the hospital nine times. For serious things such as sepsis, bleeding out rectally (digestive tract) for two weeks and other serious whatevers. Now this heart pain is a new one but I really think it is from the pancytopenia. When the cells that carry oxygen to the heart drop lower than what the heart needs I think that this pain will occur. I am not a doctor but it makes sense. However the doctors at the hospital will not listen to me. Sorry about all the complaints but this life. (and life thratening?) Back to the television as I must escape from reality for a while.
Hey, you know what> I was not put to sleep and so when it was done I passed out from the pain. I was in lala-land and when i woke up confused and in pain at least it was all over. Torture? Or are they testing to see who can put up with the pain to be able to fit in more people on the same day to make more money? I am very sorry for the people in the medical profession who do not believe in these tactics and do not include them in this complaint. This same doctor wanted to originally do this procedure in her office but I opted for the hospital when her bed did not have handles I could hold on to for my emotional support. I just cannot believe but I was there. Must go now for my sanity ta ta.
Thank you Peach
You are correct in all you have written to me, I thank you for it is like going to a psychiatrist for help. Some one listened to me and it helps to keep the mind frame intact. This site does work as we all know, Love Peach
