What's outside of your picture window today?
As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what's going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?
For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:

Hmm, John, this is either a Gaullardia
Aka blanket flowers or a straw flower if the rays are papery. The plant is your srump from yesterday is an Osreospermum.
These little guys are marigolds
My stump
Sue, I didn't look at the little identifying tag when I planted it but think you are right that it is a Gaillardia, aka blanketflower. Lavon bought them at a local nursery in Kasson along with three or four other flowers she liked at the same time she bought some tomato plants and broccoli plants for our raised garden.
Had some frequent flyers, unwanted guests and my best buddy show up for photo ops the past few days...
Great shots, John! Love that squirrel checking things out! 😉 We witnessed the oddest thing the other day. There were at least 20 squirrels, black and grey running up and down trees, chasing back and forth across the yard! It almost looked like they were playing. Didn’t seem territorial, but creepy! More like an episode of The Birds but with squirrels! LOL. My husband opened the door a crack so I could snap a picture and they all just stopped in their tracks! Some in trees or on the ground…staring and making weird noises!! 😳
@artist01 @ess77 I had to share my little patch of Siberian Irises with you this morning. Seldom have they been this glorious! It’s taken forever for them to become established and spread. Usually there are only 5 or 6 blossoms per year. This is a bright spot after all the devastation with trees toppled by storms this week.
Lori - These are lovely! Ours were more like you described this year - I think too much heat and too little rain.
I hope the change after losing trees is not too shocking - I feel your pain. 10 years ago, our yard went from peaceful shade to stark sun in one minute when we lost 5 mature trees. It took many years of adjustment, but it is now my peaceful place again.
