I had the same feeling when I had Gerd
Always eating to suppress that feeling
I also had a weird feeling in my throat
When I went to the throat doctor he looked down there and said I had Gerd he was very good at diagnosing the problem. That was many years ago and since then I have had a special surgery to fix that. But not before I had taken a lot of acid reflux medicine. I also had ulcers. I hope you find an answer to your issue . Take care .

@mj953 I too would be interested in knowing what type of surgery you had for GERD.

Nissan fundoplication it’s a very specialized surgery. You need to have a test for how much acid is coming up into your esophagus. This needs to be done to diagnose your problem. Fortunately I live in New Jersey and I have access to excellent doctors here and in New York City. I had the surgery 20 years ago. It prevents acid from coming up into your esophagus which can lead to Barrett’s esophagus.

I have extreme gnawing hunger pains everyday like I haven’t eaten in weeks when I eat all the time. Chronic inflammation in my stomach but no h pylori. I have rapid gastric emptying. Food doesn’t stay in my stomach at all it just goes right through and my intestines can’t break it down and I have terrible LOUD GURGLING all over and I live in the bathroom with urgent bowel movements all day. My gut is constantly moving and peristalsing it NEVER stops not even when i sleep. I’ve seen every dr in The Boston area for the last 3 years and no one can help me. I don’t want to live like this anymore. I am 36 and have no quality of life. No prior surgeries to have caused this. Only stress and antibiotic use but I cannot get any Relief or get better. PLEASE IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFO PLEASE HELP. thank you.

I feel for you as I’ve been living a life like that but also have extreme deep wet belches over 4000-5000 x day night . I’m not always hungry because I’m nauseous but anything I eat ( I eat healthy) makes me sick and churning loud gut and intestines. Never a days break in 7.5 years. Had every test done . Chronic Gastritis , Esphogitis , small hiatal hernia , diverticulosis, class B GERD. No one can help me . 5 Gastro Drs so far . Have a televisit finally Sept 7 with Mayo Clinic Jacksonville Gastro Dr. It’s completely ruined my life , stolen my joy . I’ll have to go and re do all the tests at Mayo I’m sure . Frustrating because nothing helps me . I live on Ultra Pepto 2 x day ( even is horrible on empty stomach ) . That’s not even helping anymore . I’ll pray for you @celderki07 . It’s hard hanging in there , I know ;( .

Hi @celderki07 and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. You'll see I moved your comment to a discussion that you already found and participated in so that you could connect with the people talking about the same subject.

I thought you would like some information on dumping syndrome and bad gut:

How long has this been going on?

I don't fit the usual dumping syndrome patient. I have not had gastric bypass and am not diabetic but have very severe dumping syndrome. It started three years ago when I had a severe gastritis and ended up with colonic inertia. I had a colectomy six months ago and no longer need laxatives but the dumping syndrome is at least as bad and maybe worse. My small intestine works more rapidly than normal as well and the dumping syndrome causes a great deal of roiling, gas, bloat as well. Are there any drugs that can help? It has been six months since my colectomy but this dumping syndrome is still very much controlling my ability to move on with normal living. I've tried all of the usual recommendations about eating and what to eat.
