Melonoma, a review of symptoms

Posted by MGMolly @Erinmfs, Jun 4, 2021

I'm a fair skinned freckled person, and I'm always on the look-out of unusual freckles. This spring, I have an unusual patch of skin on my right cheek, it's a crust of skin really, a patch. It does appear somewhat to be like the picture on the Melanoma support group listed on the right! It's quite small, but doesn't go away, should I have it looked at immediately?

@Erinmfs If you have any concerns, yes, get it looked at! It may be a pre-cancer called actinic keratosis, which is handled with liquid nitrogen and burned off. I had melanoma on my right forearm removed in 2008, and have been checked every six months since then.

oh, thank you! I remember that term now, actinic keratosis. I'll make an appointment with a dermatologist. I've had 'brown spots' burned off my face before several years ago, now I have a couple new things.

I suffered an extreme sunburn on the back of my body when about 10 years old and at about 59 I had a benign lesion removed. Then at 64 I had a Positive Melanoma removed and now at 69 I had another Positive Melanoma removed with two negative Lymph Nodes removed as well. For precautions sake we are stating a one year every four weeks regiment of injected Keytruda hopefully to stop or slow down the process of any future Melanomas. Has anyone else been through this process and could you respond with any information to your experience and results!!!! Thank You.
