My indoor garden.

Posted by artist01 @artist01, May 25, 2021

I'm envying all you outdoor gardeners right now! Just want to report on the results I've had as a not-very-good-plant-person, with repotting my three gasping-for-life orchids. After all your good advice, I ordered an orchid bark potting mixture from Amazon and followed the directions I'd printed out from a friend's orchid book. At the same time, I also bought a set of six nice looking white plastic plant pots from Amazon, especially recommended for orchids, with their own separate inserts for self-watering. Now, about a month or so later, my orchids have perked up admirably and have new sprouts! I'm feeling much like a proud momma, looking smugly at the success my three babies are enjoying! Lol. Thankyou for all your help. Hugs, Laurie

Several years ago one of our daughters gave us an orchid. It seem to like our sunroom, and when we were planning a five week cross country RV trip we decided we didn’t want to leave it behind. So, Miss Olivia Orchid went with us. Everywhere we went we took a picture of her and sent it to our family. She had pictures taken in RV parks, national parks, state parks, on river banks, in deserts and snow, visiting other beautiful flowers, etc. What fun! And she came home none the worse for her travels!

@1nan What a fun way to document your trip! I often take a picture of Emmit [my little teddy bear who lives in our travel trailer] in different places when we go.

@artist01 That’s impressive and pretty cool, Laurie! You might have a green thumb after all with your little orchids being ‘snatched from the jaws of death’ and now flourishing!l! ☺️
The only orchid I’ve ever had success with is a huge one my boss gave me when I retired...had it for 15 years. Of course, it’s artificial and sits on a table in my foyer. 😂😂

@loribmt Hi Lori and all the Mayo gardeners. Just wanted to say that my repotted orchids are no longer gasping for breath, and indeed, are almost thriving (slowly)! I'll try to post a badly focused, badly positioned photo of two of them here, but bear in mind I could barely stand long enough to snap the picture! Lol.

Laurie! They’re so healthy looking and “Snatched from the jaws of death!” You can be really proud of yourself for having saved those sad little plants and now look at them! The leaves are plump and a deep heathy green!!
I wonder if you’ll see some blossoms emerging at some point soon.

And then I see the comment about being barely able to stand long enough to snap the picture! You are a force to be reckoned with, aren’t you??!!! Love it! Thank you for braving life and limb to get that spectacular shot for us. ☺️ Hugs, Lori.
