@artist01 That’s impressive and pretty cool, Laurie! You might have a green thumb after all with your little orchids being ‘snatched from the jaws of death’ and now flourishing!l! ☺️
The only orchid I’ve ever had success with is a huge one my boss gave me when I retired...had it for 15 years. Of course, it’s artificial and sits on a table in my foyer. 😂😂

That's cheating, Lori!!!!!! I do love the silk orchid plants, tho, but it;s still cheating. Only thing is, they bloom all year round, all the time no matter where you put them. That's a really good thing, My orchids I'm saving from the dumpster are pretty happy now that I've quit taking too good care of them. I water those little ladies 2X weekly, just a few sips of water. Then, just enjoy watching them grow and put out new roots.
My Vanda orchid has a new sprout and new bloom soon to open. I put it outside last year in the fall, hanging on a limb in my crepe myrtle tree on the patio, with all the feeders. It had a new bloom last winter, seems to love the locaiton, protected by the tree and the patio fence, so I'm leaving it there. I'm watering now every day, usually morning which is great.

I'll get a picture of it when it opens.

The two inside are on a table by the window and very happy. I need despterately to replant and pot in propper pot. Like you did. So, I think this week I'll get a couple of pots and go for it.

My Bird of Paradise, in a pot inside, by the patio doors, isn't very happy. It needs re-potting, too. Everything I have needs potting! But, meed to hire someone to help. Working on that....
I used to have so many indoor plants, but when I got ill a few years ago, some died, some got to the re0potting point and I couldn't so they died. Hate that.....think I caused the deaths, I did. My african violets aren't happy, and I do a lot of those for years. Think they need repotting too. It does take some little bit of work every year or so to keep them happy.

enjoy your newfound green thumb! elizabeth

@loribmt Hi Lori and all the Mayo gardeners. Just wanted to say that my repotted orchids are no longer gasping for breath, and indeed, are almost thriving (slowly)! I'll try to post a badly focused, badly positioned photo of two of them here, but bear in mind I could barely stand long enough to snap the picture! Lol.
