Hello I am still at Theda : maybe today I can go home , it has been a rough road but I am sure once I start to heal I will feel a lot better . They said rather than go through the small bowel disconnect the colon. They were able to go thru the colon.
Also I have a lot of pain right now and that will go away after I get home and relax more.
To make matters worse my brother passed the night before surgery!
Thank you all for caring and thinking about me

@duckduck2020- Oh, my word, this certainly doesn't help your state of mind! I am so very sorry for the loss of your brother. I have lost a sister. It's strange losing a sibling, don't you think? Shared history and fun times. I recently told my younger sister not to go anywhere because she's my memory!

I hope that you are allowing pain meds. I know that hospitals often stick to 4 hr intervals, but that's never enough. Three hours would be better.

Your frame of mind seems to be in a great state for healing and moving on. I can't wait to hear if you were discharged today!

@duckduck2020 Aw, I’m echoing my friend, Merry’s comments here... I’m so sorry for the loss of your brother. Knowing what a difficult time this is, my heart goes out to you and your family.

I do hope you’re released from Theda-Clark today to be home with your family. It’s miserable being in so much pain but you’re right, being in the comfort of your own house and on your own schedule, in your own bed brings a sense of contentment and relief.

Take care and keep us posted! Lori.

@duckduck2020 It breaks my heart to hear all that has been happening now includes the loss of your brother. I am so sorry and hope you and your family have time to deal with this in a way that brings you peace. Not going home today isn’t necessarily a bad thing. They want to make sure that you will be successful in handling your post op care on your own. I will be on sidelines with others waiting to hear how things are going. Nancy
