Diarrhea and abdominal pain
Recently I have been getting diarrhea about 15 minutes to an hour after eating. Accompanying this is severe stomach cramps and pain. After a trip to the doctor, they decided that it was my gallbladder causing the symptom. In November, I had my gallbladder removed because it was full of stones and sludge. It has now been 8 months and the symptoms have not went away or decreased. Last week, I had a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. Biopsies were done on my large intestine and stomach. All results came back negative. I do not want to live the rest of my life with these symptoms. Any suggestions?

I did will thank you
I was like that for 4 years and went through as many gastroenterologists. Mine turned out to be small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). 3 hours after the second dose of meds and it was gone. Ask your doctor for a Breath Test. It detects hydrogen and or methane which if over certain levels diagnose as SIBO. The antibiotic (Rifaximin) is extremely expensive and my insurance did not cover...Worth every penny.

3 ReactionsOne problem with colonoscopy is they biopsy tissue only. Should aspirate fluid from small intestine. Things show up that are normally missed

3 ReactionsHi. I had the same symptoms and also had my gallbladder removed which the surgeon said it was somewhat inflamed but nothing major. I continued with the diarrhea (all of this for about 5 years). Finally, my daughter told me to be tested for food allergies- and I did. I am allergic to dairy, walnuts, Lobster and Oysters. I have stopped eating these foods (and reading labels very carefully) and my diarrhea has stopped. Most important is to read labels- for example most salad dressings contain milk, some medications contain milk, etc. I hope this helps. I also have other stomach problems but the diarrhea is under control. I know can go out to eat without going to the bathroom at the restaurant- LOL. I Watch for buttery foods as they contain milk. I hope this helps.

3 ReactionsI have short bowel syndrome due to losing 40% of my large bowel. I was doing good until a few months ago. I found that it was fixable by taking 2 immodium every morning rather than waiting for diarrhea to hit. Try it, it won't hurt you,

Multiple diseases have same symptoms

2 ReactionsFor years I suffered with IBS D, diverticulosis, hiatal hernia and GERD followed by weight gain and fatigue and for fun, let’s throw in some brain fog and arthritis. After a long circuitous route involving a multitude of tests, antibiotics, probiotics, and various other prescriptions, I found a dietitian that changed my life. She ran MRT blood work on me looking for food sensitivities. I was tested for 170 things and there are several that are very bad for me. After the tests came back she worked with me to make a lifelong eating plan. The first 10 days were very hard and eating out still presents challenges. However, I feel a million times better. I have only had diarrhoea a handful of times since August. No GERD flare ups, the brain fog is gone, I haven’t taken any arthritis medicine since August, I have far more energy and I have lost 18#. My feeling is the “ regular” medical community has not embraced the testing. I can tell you it has changed my life. My diet includes a lot of plants, most fish, chicken and meat with limited amounts of pork. Limited dairy. I have to believe the fuel we put in our bodies Makes a huge difference in how it performs. The testing and dietitian counselling was about $1100. I would pay double that to get the relief I’ve gotten.

3 ReactionsWho did you use and where is he or she?
I’m not sure if this is directed to me, but if it is I used Sandra Meyerowitz in Louisville, KY.
I also did food testing. It has changed my life in a very positive way. Nice to run across a like minded traveler.
