Anyone Heard of Pirenzepine for Small Fiber Neuropathy?

@cwallen9 I had not heard of pirenzepine used for small fiber neuropathy but I did find some research information.

Hi, @cwallen9 - thanks for pointing out that this drug is being studied for use with small fiber neuropathy. Perhaps other members who've talked about this condition may be familiar, like @elsa @rgolia13 @clairecas @fbell330 @djroberts, and have further information or thoughts to share?

I have heard about the use for small fiber neuropathy for that medicine but when I ask my neurologist nobody seems to know anything about it. Maybe this will help get people talking about it.

As far as I know, it is not being used yet for neuropathy. I talked to my neurologist about it, and he was not aware of it. I have read about it also, but it is just being studied now for neuropathy.

I just heard from Dr. Kim a few days ago. Second Phase clinical trials will start later this year including for chemo caused neuropathy. The company is called WinSanTor. Their product is WST-057.

@cbcbasket @johnbishop Winsantor appears to be doing great things and I think a lot of us hold out hope that they have truly found a cure. They are also trying to do a crowdsourcing for funding which I have considered to invest in to ensure they progress!

It does sound promising but I noticed a tiny little disclaimer under WinSanTor's Solution heading on their site -- ...(Please keep in mind that although this drug is believed to work for multiple indications of PN, the mechanism below is specific to treating DPN). I'm assuming they are talking about diabetic peripheral neuropathy and may not help with other neuropathies.

Still, it sounds hopeful.

Actually, they are including chemo induced neuropathy, per my communications with them. My fear is that even if it works for some it may not help me because mine is possibly dual induced and has been here for about four years, i.e. permanent.
