@sandyabbey It sounds like you must have relapsed after taking Dificid (fidaxamicin). I went through 4 bouts of Cdiff in 2018 but after taking Difiid last October, I have not relapsed. I didn't bleach blankets or anything like that. One thing I did do last October is discard the pillow I sleep with between my knees. I've had 3 back surgeries and have to sleep on my side with a pillow between my knees. I don't know if that was infected or not, but I tossed it out. Like you, I was diligent cleaning the bathroom. Are you doing the capsules from OpenBiome? That's what I had decided to do if I relapsed again. Please keep us updated after your FMT. I've made it through most of the winter without needing an antibiotic for sinus infections. I wish they would take Clindamycin off the market. I wish you well and have positive results from the FMT. I hope more people give us updates after they do FMT.
I’m on vancomycin after my last relapse up until 2 days before my FMT which is Thursday. I stop my vancomycin today. I haven’t been having diarrhea since I started back on the vancomycin. Just one loose stool a day. I was wondering if I’m still contagious at this time. I wanted to wash my sheets the day before but I was wondering if I could contaminate them them them Wednesday night during my prep. Meaning just getting back in bed after the clean out half the night. I don’t anticipate any soils. Should I change then just before I leave for the procedure, ot will they be ok. I could fold another sheet to sleep on over the clean ones, but I didn’t want to re contaminate myself.
I believe you have done a good job with cleaning as you mentioned. Washing material items well with Tide will be sufficient. Also , sounds like you are clear but the Doctor can run a test to see if you are clear. Wishing you the best and stay confident.
Hi @sandyabbey,

I was also wondering if you’ve had a chance to see the Gastroenterology & GI Surgery page on Connect? https://connect.mayoclinic.org/page/gastroenterology-and-gi-surgery/
No I haven’t seen that.
