I am a Buckeye. Born and raised in Cincinnati. Kentucky by marriage. And most likely upper mid west via transplant! And believe me, I sweat 😉
@johnbishop
John,
Don't say you can't paint. You CAN paint. I love this. It's personal, so it obviously is the work of one person and not a mass produced copy. It's your style and your technique. My Master bath is done in Lighthouses, since my husband was born In Rhode Island and lived close to Point Judith. We traveled there when we were first married. It certainly reminds me of that trip. I am always so impressed when I see paintings like yours, and I have several older friends who paint. My parents paid for art lessons for me, and I could never even paint a crooked line! They also paid for dance lessons, voice lessons, and piano lessons. Just as the art, I do not have a melodious voice, I am not a dancer, and I probably can play chopsticks on the piano! So don't hide your talent under that bushel. You have the gift. I have no hobbies. My only passion was/is teaching, and now I don't have that.
I mourn the loss every day.

@rosemarya, Good for you! I just don't sweat. Wonder what that means??
Well, John, I realize this isn't a high-level compliment, but I couldn't do anything this good myself!
I can give you the ability to delete your own comments. However, you should keep in mind that people will still get the email notification about the comment. I suggest that you simply edit the comment that you would like to delete. You can completely change it. But that way the member doesn't get taken to an "Oops, this page doesn't exist" message.
Would that work for you @retiredteacher?
I think I did that once @colleen. I wanted to delete something I wrote so I just wiped it out and replaced it with a smiley face.
I thought if I sent you a private message, you would be the only one to see it, but every time I do that, all the private messages are attached and jump from topic to topic and everyone gets it in their inbox, or so it seems to me.
If I want to send a message to just you or just one other Mentor, I don't know how to prevent all the Mentors from reading it. That further clogs up the inbox.

Carol, A private message (PM) is accessed by clicking the envelope icon top right.
-You and just add your new message for me to the PM message chain that you and I have already established, and I will get it (either see a notice in me email, or see a little red number in a circle on the envelope icon).
-If you want to include others in the PM, you would need to start a new message by clicking "Compose) and adding the persons you want to include in the PM. Only those persons will have access to that PM.
Does this help you?
I have a trick to share!
There is the link to Get Started on Connect that is located in the bottom left corner of this page. You can open it there by clicking on it, or open it thru this link- https://connect.mayoclinic.org/get-started-on-connect/
You can find the how to do the private messaging, and other helpful tidbits.
I'll be looking for your message as I check in during the day.
You are doing great! It will become easier for you.
Carol, When you reply in Mentor/Moderator, it acts the same as in the public discussions. The Mentor/Moderator group is Private, meaning it is closed to the public, but all who have access to the Mentor/Moderator group, will see the reply.
Does that address your situation?
Hi all! I'm really sorry I missed the call yesterday! Can't even blame my computer -- since Napa the Lab decided she needed to taste my cellphone, which is now my only phone! After a quick visit to the Vet the determination was that all will be OK for her insides, but not so much my wallet!
Pups will be pups I guess!
Cheers all and I look forward to catching up!
Scott
