We understand many of you are feeling uneasy about COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) and how the outbreak affects you and your families. Mayo Clinic is continuing to monitor and respond to the situation. For several weeks, the Hospital Incident Command System at Mayo Clinic has been activated with daily meetings to ensure we are prepared to minimize the threat of COVID-19 transmission. Mayo Clinic’s primary focus remains the ongoing safety of patients, staff, volunteers and the community.
While we greatly value the contributions of volunteers and the services you provide to support patients, visitors and staff, effective Tuesday, March 17, we will be suspending volunteer activities at Saint Marys Campus, Methodist Campus and Mayo Clinic (Outpatient) Campus. This is to support Mayo Clinic’s efforts to minimize the threat of COVID-19 transmission and help keep you safe. While we know this will undoubtedly leave a void in our service areas for patients, visitors and staff, Mayo Clinic leadership feels this is in the best interest of everyone.
Thank you for your unwavering commitment to Mayo Clinic. Although it is uncertain when we will resume volunteer activities, we will continue to monitor the evolving situation and keep you updated. When the situation improves, we will look forward to resuming all volunteer activities on the Rochester campus and seeing you in the volunteer offices.

Like you, others are cut off from some of their normal support systems with social distancing during this time.
