TERESA: What brought you to Mayo Clinic Connect? What motivates you to take part in the community?
@lioness: My career in nursing gave me the opportunity to support people. While I am retired now, I still want to keep supporting others and Connect helps me to do that. This is giving me a good platform to use. I found Mayo Clinic Connect on the internet.
TERESA: What about Connect makes you feel comfortable to share and to be open with the community?
@lioness: Everyone is so genuine and knowledgeable about their problems.
TERESA: What groups do you participate in?
@lioness: Several: Chronic Pain, Heart & Blood Health, Bones, Joints & Muscles, Just Want to Talk.
TERESA: Who has been a special connection for you on Connect?
@lioness: @gailb was the first one to have a discussion with me. I appreciate her, and you, Teresa, @hopeful33250.
TERESA: What surprised you the most about Connect?
@lioness: How compassionate everyone is and helpful, @grandmar in particular. She is compassionate and finds articles, like one on diet, for instance.
TERESA: What energizes you, or how do you find balance in your life?
@lioness: I find balance when I play with my grandson and watch him grow. We have a lot of activities that we do together.
TERESA: Tell us about your favorite pastime or activity.
@lioness: I use to love to walk Inglewood, where I lived in Pennsylvania, seeing all the animals. For instance, a snow owl scared me once. I wasn't expecting him, and he flew up and I ducked!
TERESA: Do you have a favorite quote, life motto or personal mantra?
@lioness: The quote I live by is “Live every day like it's your last.”
TERESA: What do you appreciate the most in your friends?
@lioness: I have a long-standing friend of 50 years. We can laugh and cry together through many happy and sad moments. Honesty, even if it hurts, is important to have in a friend.
TERESA: What food can you simply not resist?
@lioness: I can't live without chocolate. (By the way, my brother’s nickname was Chocolate.)
TERESA: What do you love about where you live or vacation?
@lioness: Where I live now in California, I can go up on the roof and see snow on the mountains to the south and also see the ocean.
TERESA: Puppies or kittens?
@lioness: Puppies.

Whenever I think of you Linda I remember a nurse I had in San Francisco. I don’t know why I think of you because your so nice and my nurse was mean. Well not really but she kept insisting I eat my vegetables. My mom brought me some Sees candy and I stached it away and my Mom ushered the veggies out in the candy box. We did that everyday. Sure put one over on her. I really enjoy your comments. Keep up the good work.
