White Painful Spot on back of throat S/P tonsilectomy
I had a tonsillectomy about 4 months ago (in November) and currently have 1 painful, white spot on the back of my throat. This is the second time this has happened since the surgery (the first one looked nearly identical but had more of a reddish look around the white spot). I saw my ENT after this happened the first time, but by the time I got in to see him, the white spot was gone (it had only lasted about 1 day). He said it might’ve been some leftover tonsil tissue that was irritated (?), although my tonsils had rarely hurt this bad when they were irritated. It is very painful to swallow when this happens. Has anyone seen this before? Or have any idea what it might be?

Here’s what it looked like the last time. It looks like it had been an even bigger white spot than I remembered. This one happened in mid February.

Although I can’t speak specifically about a tonsillectomy I have white spots after biting my tongue and cheek after a seizure. But they become smaller and less painful and generally go away within a couple of weeks at most. 4 months seems excessive for damage or left over tissue.
I’d be asking that doctor some straight forward questions and I wouldn’t wait for an appointment. You hired him/her and it was their responsibility to insure the procedure was done correctly. If it was me and it was over one month I would be pretty aggressive and demand answers (not excuses) from that doctor.
Take care,
Jake
@cantmissliss That spot in your mouth I had one but not from tonsillectomy I found mine was from acidity of citrus foods .As soon as I realized this I did away with acidic foods ,pineapple, oranges all citrus and tomato sauces yes it is hard to get rid of tomatoes but I don't have these ulcers anymore Could this be a problem for you?
