Vaginal burning
Is it possible to have neuropathy in the vagina? I am a 67 year old female with no underlying health concerns. I have burning in my vagina and have been to Ob/gyn and urologist. I have had CT, Ulta sound and no unusual findings. I am so uncomfortable. Any help would be most appreciated.

@mmoss, I went to four GYN doctors until the 4th said I have lichen sclerosis. This is a terrible disease. I don't know about neuropathy in the vagina, but your burning sounds like mine. Sometimes I have a yeast infection or cellulitis. I use a compounded cream to numb the area. It is the only way I can get relief. I sometimes sit on an ice pack. I use Halobetasol twice weekly and Premarin cream twice weekly. When I have flares, I use the Halobetasol more often. You need to look for a GYN who understands vulvadynia and especially, lichen sclerosis. I truly understand your pain and I have struggled with this for many years. It never seems to go away. I was told there is no cure for lichen sclerosis and based on my experience, I believe that. My best wishes to you as you search for an understanding doctor. @joybringer1
@mmoss I wonder if any of this information resonates with you and if you've heard of Vulvodynia before either in your own research or in your OB/GYN appointments?

oh this sounds horrible and feel for you...I have other issues - but once years ago used a vaginal cream, will try and remember what it was, started with a M. maybe Monistat? OTC after an antibiotic....well used it at bedtime and vaginal burning all night, couldn't very well remove the cream tried to wipe and not sure I recall but may have used an ice cube.... I went onto a website next day and dozens, scores of women complaining about same thing, although had used it before with no problem... just that one time was enough for me and I haven't yet read the suggested sites yet from moderator, but maybe someone on here has an idea to help or home remedy? just home myself from walkin clinic and strep throat so now to deal with that pain.....probably got from dentist a week ago.... never ends does it? J.
p.s. oh not sure what year this was posted but its in one of the sites listed by moderator.... ?????

In reply to @lizziemnz "Has anybody suffered from vulvodynia? I have extreme discomfort (burning and tingling..." + (show)
I had burning and itching that was very intense. My gynecologist said it was atrophy of the vulva from being post menopausal. Nothing he prescribed for me worked.
I had an appointment with my endocrinologist and he prescribed clotrimazole-betamethasone 1-0.05 % cream
It worked within 24 hours! I had tested negative for yeast, but this doc was sure this would work. It did!
I used it for 2 weeks and all is solved. Hope this or something works for you. I don't think you realize how much discomfort
you have unless you experience it yourself!!
Thank you for your reply. I just have burning. It’s intense unless I take pain meds. No itching so not sure if this would help.
