@anet Sending hugs of support to you. I have found that doctors are very attuned to the issues with kidney disease stages and scans/procedures. They do not want to unnecessarily strain anything. They may be able to use a dye that will clear his kidneys easily, and I imagine they are in touch with your husband's nephrologist. For example, my oncologist consulted with the imaging center and my nephrologist last fall before MRIs. And next week, on another MRI, I will have no contrast because of my stage 4 kidney issue.

My husband 76 is having triple bi pass next week and also has poor kidney functions but not as bad as stage 4. We were also worried from all the test he has had recently if the dye would damage the kidneys but all the cardiologist specialist have said; they would put in a special drip to help that and the advantages outweighed the negatives so trust your specialists. Wishing him the best.
