Has medical marijuana helped your nerve pain?
I have tried medical marijuana for the nerve pain in my arm and hands, but so far nothing I’ve tried has provided much pain relief. I have tried vape pens and tinctures with various combinations of CBD and THC. Just wondering if medical marijuana has helped anyone’s nerve pain. Thanks.

Hi everyone, I have recently been experiencing the most annoying tingling/buzzing feeling in my toes which is present 24/7 and prevents me from falling asleep. I also think I may have Sjorgrens since everything (eyes, nose mouth ears skin) have become very dry) I am especially concerned about the new (after 3 yrs.) toe buzzing. There is no new pain or numbness in toes. This is after my 2 COVD vacs, don’t know if it is connected. I increased my gabapentin and tried epsom salt soaks which did not help. Any and all suggestions are welcome! Helen
@patrick17 I can attest to the significant benefits of Kratom! A godsend until the DEA takes it away from us.
@bustrbrwn22
Oh Jen I hope those maniacs don't do it. If you ever come across the item you read before about the DEA ramping efforts to make it a Schedule 1 controlled substance, I would like to read it. Thanks, Hank
Good afternoon @patrick17, Thanks for opening this discussion.....and I am very sorry you have not been able to secure some escape from the pain of SFN. Because I must assume that you live in an area in which medical cannabis is legal.....all of my personal best products are found at a medical dispensary. This also means that they are regulated and tested for authenticity and dosage compliance.
I began using simple vape cartridges and topicals about 6 years ago when you almost had to head to the hinterlands of the Sierras to find them. I found that hybrid vapes worked the best. I also used small jars of a topical made from ingredients in the owners' backyard for my tingly painful hands and arms. Once the recreational market opened, I found it difficult to find medical cannabis products. It took a while.
At this point, my SFN pain is totally managed by medical cannabis. I use different products and doses throughout the day. Although the staff of the dispensary tried to help me, I had no plan and no consistent relief. Actually, it was the owner who worked with me to put together a protocol to meet my daily and nighttime needs. What we have to realize is that with cannabis, we are our own practitioners.....our own pharmacists, and our own prescribers. It requires time and attention. And for awhile there, the products changed so rapidly that it was difficult to get the same one twice.
And so I used trial and error......and evaluation by my dispensary owner. At least he was older and very empathetic. You may need a 1:1 CBD/THC in the morning to get you going......then a late afternoon tincture before a nap. Evenings and bedtime require a different product or dosage. Right now I am back on a 2:1 rich CBD tincture to support great sleep and good dreams and a 1:3 CBD/THC or a 3:1 CBD/THC tincture for arms and feet depending on what is going on down there.
Once you feel pretty human and comforted, you will also be able to discuss combining cannabis use with other recommendations from your neurologist, dermatologist, and PCP. Both of my MFR therapists use the topical for their own work-related issues, especially shoulders.
We are fortunate to have a natural plant resource that helps us all. Let me know about your specific needs. I am glad to help you by sharing my personal experience.
Be safe and protected.

Hello, Chris. This is the first time in forever I've been searching sites and look what I found! You! and a new discussion re medical marij.
I've mentioned before how thankful I am to have found this wonderful resource to combat my pain, anxiety, depression, sleep issues, and so much more. I am still using the 1:1 tincture at night. Even with the very stressful and extra demanding recent days/weeks, I'm able to function better than I would have ever expected. I carry a little vial of spray THC tincture and a bottle of CBD tincture in my purse wherever I go for when I have pain or extra anxiety. Both help with both, interestingly. I've been pleasantly surprised at this and find I get 24 hour help with everything with this particular combination. I'm going to the dispensary in a couple days to get some product and plan to discuss this and some additional needs.
I've not had such remarkable results/relief with topicals. Actually, I use Voltaren gel for topical pain relief when I need the extra help. It truly is a trial and error, to some degree, and the willingness to search and learn and ask questions of experts.
This system I almost fell upon by accident helped my son today when we were at his doc appt and then stopped by for groceries.....He was having a very, very difficult afternoon with severe pain, etc. He used his vape, but didn't get real help. I gave him some of my combination and it really helped him. He was able to do his shopping!!!!! As was I!! All because of this wonderful, little pretty plant.
I take no prescription medication for pain other than this combination of tincture. I'm amazed at this, after so many different meds through the years that never gave me this relief. Truly amazing.
Hope you and your precious artist are doing well, staying warm and enjoying those recliners in front of a roaring fire. Sounds lovely.
Good to catch up a bit.
Blessings, my friend.

Does anyone know if medical marijuana will ever be legal in Wisconsin or how I can find out the status of legalizing it?
Hi Chris, thank you so much for your very detailed response. It has provided me with a lot of good information. I first tried medical marijuana a few years ago just with vape pens. They really didn’t help very much. Last year I decided to try again with both vape pens and tinctures. I had a little more success with the tinctures, but still no major pain relief.
I have not tried smokable products because of their effects on the lungs, but if nothing else helps I may give them a try. As you said it is a matter of trial and error. I will keep trying.
Thanks again for your help!
Patrick
Interested about kratom! M m doesn’t help
Hey there patrick17,
Please do not smoke marijuana products. Although that is the fastest way to get action it is also dangerous for your lungs. I just tossed all of the vapes and vape cartridges that had been in the bottom drawer for a few years. Your post reminded me.
Tinctures, to be effective are held underneath your tongue and absorbed right to your brain. This means that they do not go through your digestive system. The response is within 15 minutes with the under the tongue application. The digestive route can be 30-45 minutes or more, the product not as stable, and you are more likely to be subject to reactions.
So depending upon your distribution choice...you can judge how long it will take to feel relief and that becomes your starting point. By trying different dosages, e.g. 3:1 CBD/THC or 2:1 CBD/THC you will know when to use what. I use 3:1 for a lazy afternoon and 2:1 for bedtime. If I need to be particularly alert I use a 1:1 CBD/THC,,,, which I call my "wide-eyed and bushy-tailed" response.
If this kind of information helps you let me know.
May you be free of suffering and the causes of suffering.
Chris
Happy days are here again.....your son is progressing? Nice to hear from you. It sounds like you have found your cannabis protocol.....the right dosage for the right thing at the right time.
You may wish to learn about where I have been. I am fighting the neuropathic "itch". It has been with me and increasing its attack since my post last April. If you would like to read about it..........

I look forward to reading your compassionate way of verbally putting your arms around someone.
May you have comfort and ease.
