You've asked an interesting question. Most diagnoses that are made (especially those made by specialists) are a combination of symptoms as well as medical tests such as blood tests, MRIs, and scans of other types.

If you ever have a lab test (I'm assuming that this came from a blood test) it is always appropriate to ask to have the test done again to be sure it is correct. You would then have the opportunity to let the doctor help you with that decision and to let you know if there are other factors that are contributing to the diagnosis of "autoimmune hepatitis."
