Isolation as diagnosis

You have done a very good job and fully answered my question. I didn't think there was or could be such a diagnosis as isolation. My current counselor only knows the diagnosis seems puzzled and knows nothing about my childhood and my isolation then. She asks weekly if I feel isolated. The next time she asks I will need to respond as Ginger said and I will also need to say that was only in childhood.

I agree you definitely need to say something to this therapist. I'd suggest being diplomatic about it when you do it. People, unfortunately, can be touchy, and there is no benefit to you in introducing any element of conflict between you two, as you are seeing this person to gain something positive from them. I think I would just try to say, without any hint of anger, "I am not isolated. Let's move past that" Or something similar. Hank
