Six years ago I was horribly sick for months. Cough off the charts. Changed doctors 3 times. Said it could be acid reflux. Sent me for allergy screening and said I was allergic to maple leaves. It was January and minus 20 degrees! I said no! I'm throwing up from coughing! Never had allergies! I was sent for 3 X-rays. Nothing. It was after the 3rd that I heard two hospital nurses chatting about how bad the pertussis outbreak was. Went home and googled. Guess what- adult pertussis doesn't necessarily show on an X-ray. Finally taken seriously when it was discovered by a CT scan that my lungs were filled. Unfortunately by the time the bronchoscopy was performed was too late to culture the mucous as I had been on Levaquin for a week. Diagnosis was bronchiectasis. Never smoked. It was acquired. They give you a tube thing so when you cough up a mucous plug you have 30+ minutes to get it to the lab. Yeah. That works real well if its the middle of the night or a weekend. I had anger issues for a long time that had they taken this previously healthy person seriously things would have gone smoother. Well now my lung doctor died in the middle of this pandemic and I have a new pulmonologist who I haven't seen yet in person. My advice? Listen to your inner voice. Is this totally new? Did it just come out of nowhere? Do you suspect they may be wrong? Demand the tests and procedures you deserve and don't let them give you the run around.
Doctors give me medicine for sinuses , he give me antihistamines antibiotics and acid reflux medicine ,but non of them is effective
