Tinnitus-masking hearing aids?
I'm new on this forum, and I hope I'm not being redundant with my question. I have moderate bilateral sensorineural hearing loss AND unrelenting tinnitus. Does anyone have experience with attempts at tinnitus masking using hearing aids? My audiologist has ordered the Phonak Audeo M50 and states she believes these will help mask the tinnitus as well as improving my hearing. I do not have any type of hearing aids yet. I would appreciate any feedback in this regard. Thank you!

I've tried - it does seem to diminish the noise, but it doesn't go away completely. Thanks for the suggestion!
Just goggled it - yes, I get a lot of songs stuck in my head. The ones I "heard" were part of the collection but considerably more vivid.
My condo seems to have large amounts of ambient sound, and many people have reported hearing unexpectedly exaggerated sounds from the condos around them. I'll give a try to setting up the sound meter. Thanks.
Mine are very vivid and quite beautifully done. It's the repetition that gets to me. I do find that I can switch songs if I work on it. 🙂 Sounds so crazy, but it's real. Without my hearing devices I don't hear anything. Still, those are loud and clear. Thankfully, this is only a sometimes thing.
It is truly amazing what our minds will do. I really enjoyed the beauty of the songs my mind produced for me. But a bit disconcerting to feel like they are real sounds when they aren't.
