CT scan
My 6 month CT scan is this Wednesday. I hope all is still clear-- will combine the CT scan with a mammogram (routine). Anyway, thanks to all of you, I am doing really well emotionally as well as physically. I actually look forward to whatever the tests show. I"m more concerned about two rescue dogs I've gotten. recently. They have some health issues that need treatment. One little fellow has a MAST cell cancer that will be removed. I've lost two dogs in the past to this and hope this little guy--a Boston Terrier rescue named Bucky, does well. He will have surgery this coming Saturday. My other one--a collie mix of some sort namedTeddy will be treated for heartworms. My point in all of this is that I appreciate all the support from you and the advice--staying in the moment, being grateful, and knowing that I can "vent" when necessary. Will let you know the CT scan outcome by next week when I see my oncologist. Have a marvelous week all of you.

I'm pleased for you that Bucky's surgery is over, @alamogal635. It sounds like you are spoiling him very admirably! That's what pets are for! I hope that he feels better soon.
Now we just have to wait for the news about your tests.
@hopeful33250 I am doing my utmost to spoil my four furry friends: Bucky, Tobey, Sammy, and Teddy. Bucky is coming along nicely. Thank you.
@alamogal635- I don't think that you need to do anything without your babies. It's all uphill now and with your tender caring, he should do very well. It's horrible when our babies are ill or hurt. I think that you are making wise choices. It's easy to love them, isn't it?
Glad to hear Bucky came through. My Summitt says hey, he had his first mass cell at 3 on his head, still here at 8, although cancer is back. Feel like we fight together!!
Yes, I do go to Mayo, but ii seems like each time I am handed off to another Dr and cannot establish with one Dr. Having had to deal with the VA and bringing my CPTSD, MST and the like with me, trust is difficult enough without at least one consistent voice.
By the way, hi to everyone!
@mwepreb Yes, it is easy to love them. I am amazed how these dogs just show up in my life. I don't actuallly look for them. They come to me when the time is right. Bucky is doing really well. I am waiting with some anxiousness to knwo the outcome of my CT scan. The mammogram is normal. That's good. Am going to call my PCP tomorrow and find out is she has gotten words about the CT scan. used to think this was pushy, but by golly, it's my health at stake and I have a right to know what's going on. So there we are. It's a beatiful day here in Texas and we can kind of feel fall starting. Lovely!
@meka- Hi and welcome back. It's so good to hear from you. I think that It is very important to have cancer doctors who you can trust and don't have to play catch up every time that you have an appointment. Have you tried to talk to someone about your issue of not having one cancer team for yourself?
@alamogal635- Oh, I'm with you on the anxiety for your test results. Hug your pups and tomorrow will shine blue and bright! I'm thinking of you. Fall has arrived here in RI. I don't think that it's pushy to call about test results at all. And, you are correct, we pay for them! Do you wait patiently for all tests, like blood work?
@merpreb Will certainly hug my babies. RI is a place I’ve not visited, but someday I’d like to. I don’t usually worry about standard blood tests. My doctor calls in a couple of days with the results. This lung scan is the one I want to know about. So will check tomorrow. Take meds for it,but I have depression and anxiety. Don’t feel depressed, but the anxiety is there as would be expected. I’ll know soon enough. Sure will let you all know. Glad to hear from you!
Can pregnant women undergo CT scans?
Hi @sumtybs, welcome to Mayo Connect. You would want to talk with your doctor about the safety of a CT scan while pregnant. Generally a CT of areas other than the abdomen or pelvis are safe. You would want to tell the radiology technologist that is performing the scan that you are/may be pregnant.
Do you have lung cancer, or fear that you do? Has a CT of the chest been ordered?
