CT scan
My 6 month CT scan is this Wednesday. I hope all is still clear-- will combine the CT scan with a mammogram (routine). Anyway, thanks to all of you, I am doing really well emotionally as well as physically. I actually look forward to whatever the tests show. I"m more concerned about two rescue dogs I've gotten. recently. They have some health issues that need treatment. One little fellow has a MAST cell cancer that will be removed. I've lost two dogs in the past to this and hope this little guy--a Boston Terrier rescue named Bucky, does well. He will have surgery this coming Saturday. My other one--a collie mix of some sort namedTeddy will be treated for heartworms. My point in all of this is that I appreciate all the support from you and the advice--staying in the moment, being grateful, and knowing that I can "vent" when necessary. Will let you know the CT scan outcome by next week when I see my oncologist. Have a marvelous week all of you.

@alamogal635- Please keep us posted. Fingers and toes crossed!
@merpreb You bet I will!
Hello @alamogal635,
I am so happy to hear about the support that you feel you have received from Connect. We all need somebody to walk with us as we journey through a health problem. Thanks for letting us know about your scan on Wednesday. When do you anticipate getting the results?
PS I hope Bucky gets through his surgery on Saturday OK. Will you let us know about him as well?🐶
@hopeful33250 Thank you! The support is real. Will have the scan tomorrow around 9:45 a.m. As it has happened in the past if my PCP gets the results first she will call me in a few days. However, if it takes a little later I will hear from my oncologist Monday afternoon. Right now most of our physicians are doing phone calls rather than face to face visits. I'll be sure to let you know one way or another. Frankly, I am okay about everything. Hope I can be of help to others here.
Bucky will have his nodule removed Saturday mid-morning sometime. God bless our vet she makes housecalls and will do the surgery in her van which is equipped for such things. As for his results, I don't think we will know for about a week once the nodule is examined What to expect. The vet thinks there is a good chance she will get it all removed including the lymph nodes and margins of the site--that's the plan. I'll keep you posted about him too. He's a sweet little guy--have had lots of dogs, but never a Boston Terrier. I'm proud to be a member of the pack here at home.
@merpreb HAd the CT scan done today and it all went well as far as I can tell. Mammogram as well. Radiologist at the center should know the results as of tomorrow. If I am lucky, my PCP will know the results along with my oncologist by tomorrow, or Monday. In times before my PCP has called with the results before the oncologist calls. Anyway--here's hoping all is clear. You will know after I know for certain. Just glad the tests went very easily and everyone was so kind. Thank you for caring.
@alamogal635- Glad that the tests went well. I'm anxious about the results along with you. I hate the wait! Drives me nuts. Will you call if you don't hear anything?
@merpreb the waiting is the hard part. If my PCP hears by tomorrow she will let me know. If not the oncologist will call on a Wednesday. You are darned right I’ll call if I don’t hear by Wednesday. Haven’t had to call before as I hear quickly enough. Will let you know.
@alamogal635 Looking forward to hearing about your MRI results and praying for the best news possible. I'll also be thinking about Bucky's surgery on Saturday. I hope it helps him.
@hopeful33250 This morning Bucky had his surgery. THe MAST cell lesion was removed. Given that it waso n his lower leg, it was hard to get all the MAST cells. The vet did a great job and Bucky is hobbling along with a giant bandage on his leg. We will know results of the biopsy and I refuse to have his leg amputated if it is bad. Radion if needed will be oay. Anyway, he is doing well. I fed all four of my fur babies treats tonight and they are happy. Whatever happens with Bucky, at least the lesion is removed and I will make sure he has a great life and spoil him more and more every day. I do that with my other three doggies. Bucky doesn't seem to bein pain and was barking a little earlier. These dogs are my family and I odn't knwo what I"d do without my fur babies.
