Neck Surgery

Hello everyone, my name is Laura and I'm 48 years old and went through neck surgery. I'm 2 months out and at first everything was going well 100% no pain, but I did have a bad infection due to latex tape which the doctors knew I was allergic to. The swelling is gone, now I feel very week and when I turn my head to the left I want to pass out, I called my surgeon and he seen me but told me he doesn't want to see me anymore. I have a knot on my neck that wasn't there before, and my family doctor believes that the rest of the stitch didn't dissolve completely. My neck gets itchy at times and I have yellowish puss coming from the incision, which the surgeon claims is normal. My surgeon now wants me to see a neurologist for my symptoms.

Is this all in my head, or can a neurologist help me, or is this a surgeon miss up? I don't know what to do,

I'm afraid if I go to sleep, because now when I do sleep I have a very hard time waking up....its like I'm in a coma I can hear people tell me to get up but I can't move or speck, I literally have to force myself to move or have my family to pull me into a sitting position.

I was told my spine is 10 years older than I am! Eight years ago I had a spinal cord stimulator implanted by a neurosurgeon. Four years later I went to him about my neck. Bad discs were impinging on nerves to both shoulders and down both arms. He said he could go in through the front of my neck and take care of shoulder pain or go in through the back and fuse the discs but not help the shoulder pain. Going through the front of my neck scared me and I determined I wasn't in enough pain to do that. Well, times have changed and if I have another episode as I did a few weeks ago, I will be back in his office. I would encourage you to seek out a second opinion from a neurosurgeon. Please keep in touch. I care and pray you will find the best doctor to help you.
