Fibromyalgia or Neuropathy: Pain all over not just feet and legs?

Posted by maryflorida @maryflorida, Sep 2, 2020

My doctor wants me to go to physical therapy for pain in my left hip. I told her that the pain goes differently every day.. hip, knee, other hip, shoulder. Where is it? Does that happen to you? I can't identify where I hurt because when I get to the office, it may change location and sometimes I don't hurt. I wonder if it is fibromalgia or neuropathy, but I don't think it matters too much. Just pain.

Hi Maryflorida,
I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia before I ever heard the word, in the late 1980's. Now knowing what it is, I had it a long time before I was Dx'd.
I also have been Dx'd with Allodynia as well which some think is the same thing as Fibro but it's not.
I knew that my insane pain response to anything invasive, whether a microscopic virus, bacteria or foreign body, was abnormal. I also can't be touched in certain ways such as my skin can't be brushed with a hand but it can lay on my skin and even gently squeeze it.
There are places I can't be touched at all such as my upper back and spine area.
The all over flu-like tenderness, aching, fatigue, and trouble concentrating, focusing, decision-making, etc., is textbook fibro.
Then I got the neuropathy and burn and sting over most of my body. It's such a brutal pain! It feels as if I am missing the protective top layer of skin in places. Ouch!
I am happy to do my best to answer any questions you may have about fibro or anything else.
I wish you all the best and a zillion blessings, Sunnyflower 😊

The pain and tingling sensations are is so difficult to describe isn't it?! One day I have tingling in my face and ear, the next day it goes away. I will have tingling in my feet one day and then pain the next day. I am still waiting for my diagnosis and wishing you the best and get answers as well.
