Does anyone recommend a portable, rechargable TENS unit for pain?
Does anyone recommend a portable, rechargable TENS unit for pain management? The easier to use the better, trying to go to the bathroom a dozen times a night and adjusting all the sticky nodes is very frustrating, too. I had one that helped with my sciatica pain but was too cumbersome to continue using and it wore out quite quicky.

@rois4richo That is a new one I never heard of it before what does the EMS muscle stimulator do My Tens unit relaxes the muscle what else does the stimulator do besides relaxing the muscle?
Yes I’d like to hear more about what an EMS stimulator does.
I probably am using my TENS wrong then. I crank it up to as high of an electric jolt as I can stand on that particular day. I thought the idea was to distract you from the pain you were feeling by getting stimulated by something even more painful. Please let me know if I’m using it wrong
@busterbrown You don't increase your pain it just relaxes the muscle so you nerve can be released also if it is affected . Just increase the amount to as much as you can stand dont go beyond this or you cause more harm them good . I use mine more on my back and legs I don't need it for feet but go only as high as you are comfortable with it . Am anxious to hear about this stimulator
Hello Lioness - The one I have is from Massage Therapy Concepts model TE2017. It stimulates, then relaxes for about 4-5 seconds, then repeats, and is programed for 20 minutes, which you can increase by 10 minutes up to 60. It is gentle or you can increase the intensity. Some features it simulates is Acupuncture, Tapping, Cupping, Shiatsu, Deep Tissue Massage. It is portable, put the pads on, put the unit in your pocket and go for a walk. You can use it anytime. I do sometimes 3 or 4 times a day. I like it as it gives me relief of muscle tension.
@lioness my sciatica runs from my right lower back, right hammie, outside both shins, and the bottom of both feet. I try to walk 1/2 hr day and my feet feel like they are on fire, or being ice-picked, or large deep scabs breaking open again and again. My feet are like this every day even if I lie in bed all day although standing and walking really inflame my feet. I put the TENS on the bottoms of both feet and on the side of each shin and crank it up.

Oh Jen, that is ridiculously horrible! I am so sorry to hear what you have to go through, and it is that severe EVERY day? I'm not sure how you can function, I'm really not. You, my dear, are the epitome of a trooper. No wonder you need all the opioids and benzos. They should NEVER hassle someone like you (or any of the others here) who has genuine god-awful pain. The arrogance of bureaucrats who make these decisions so casually. Really makes me P.O.'d ('scuse the French). Hank
@jesfactsmon Thanks so much for your kind words. I do have people in my life (not many because I isolate myself due to agoraphobia) who believe I should not need pain medicine or benzo's, I am just weak. It is nice to have someone not judge you but try to walk in your shoes. I do sit on ice packs at almost all times as well, on constant rotations from the freezer. I really am trying to heal myself, it just isn't happening yet.
@lioness you are definitely right about being careful at night. I have taken a few spills that knocked the fan and beverages over. Really stupid.
@rois4richo Can I ask what the brand/model is for the TENS/EMS combo muscle stimulator? I'd like to look it up. Thanks so much for sharing.
@rois4richo I apologize I didn't see this post before I asked you to repeat yourself. Sorry for not being thorough and potentially causing you unnecessary work! Jen
