@tim1028 Thanks for posting this info on Atorvastatin which I'm on. These statins are awful and not sure if they truly help cholesterol. Had side effects with other statin drugs so no other options for me.

Many people can successfully take Atorvastatin and other statins with no side effects. I had to get off one statin, wait a month or two, then try another. There are other LDL lowering drugs available that are not statins. When I started Atorvastatin, it was at a moderate dose. When I started with rosuvastatin, I took the lowest dose, once a week, then gradually increased to the highest level I could tolerate (4X weekly). This 'low and slow' process took 9 months.
