Burser and Achillies Heel after TKR

Had my second tkr on my left leg. Even before my surgery my ankle and heel hurt. Now I have a burser between my tendens in my ankle and an achillies heel. Have been going to PT for 8 weeks for it. Tried the steriod pack and finally had a cortizone shot. My surgeon said I couldn't get another shot if it didn't work. I have 2 weeks left of PT. I ice it along with icing my knee but I'm at lost as to what else I can do. Any suggestions? thanks

I have no medical background or training but you mentioned you have been doing PT for 8 weeks and I'm wondering if that is having an effect on the amount of pain. I have discussed it with my surgeon. The pain is in the back of the ankle and is caused by the burser in between the tendens which is also causing the achillies heel. The PT has helped a little and I got a 1 and only cortizone shot 3 days ago. It feels 50% better and am hoping it will start to go away with continued excercise. Just looking to see if there was anything else I could do for it and I have to keep excercising for my knee since I missed PT after surgery due to the covid shut down. Thank you for the links

@janicemmccarthy : had some different issues several months after TKR, and it turned out that one of my legs was slightly (really, very slightly) longer than the other one. Whether a result of the TKR, or if it was always that way, I don’t know. But it caused problems with walking, and custom orthotics helped fix that. I may be way off base, but I could not hurt to have your leg length checked by your PT professional. May contribute to your pain by throwing your weight load on the ankle/heel out of whack.

thank you, hadn't thought of that, I do seem to loose balance and PT is working on that. I will ask her to measure my legs.

Puzzled by comment of only 1 injection. Normal is 2 injections, wondering why yours said 1? All the best quick healing.

They gave me 1 cotizone shot in the ankle and said that was a one and only chance I had. It is80% better and still doing PT. Hopefully with continued excercise and ice it will help.
