..ah Ginger so comforting... we cant have cat as adult daughter highly allergic although doesnt live here, even a visit sets her off after a few minutes: we got our first pup after 30 yrs of marriage, when I retired.... she slept at the foot of my bed for about 5 or more years... we moved and then she got sore hip - had my husband lower the bed frame and she continued for about a year to jump up...then no longer wanted to climb up the 8 stairs or jump up to sleep with with me. It's odd but even after all these years, often when I now get up in the morning, my eyes still go to the foot of the bed to see her! She is now 11 and weights 75lbs...have had to substitute with a small teddy bear!!!

Lacy, Animals are very comforting! I sleep in a King size bed! My two 50lb healers take up two thirds of the bed! I get the other third! I have a leg pillow that is between us. My old dog used to sleep below my feet. He weighed about 75lbs. I sleep on my side, so I think that may have been what caused my bursitis in my right hip.
So they are on the other half now! Really Great when you have a tough time sleeping and one of them knows it and gives you a big kiss in the middle of the night!
