I find that when our cat sleeps on the bed, she is "glued" to me, usually somewhere between knee and ankle. The comfort and weight of feeling her helps me rest. And this time of year, there is a heavy blanket on the bed, which also lends to "cocooning".

..ah Ginger so comforting... we cant have cat as adult daughter highly allergic although doesnt live here, even a visit sets her off after a few minutes: we got our first pup after 30 yrs of marriage, when I retired.... she slept at the foot of my bed for about 5 or more years... we moved and then she got sore hip - had my husband lower the bed frame and she continued for about a year to jump up...then no longer wanted to climb up the 8 stairs or jump up to sleep with with me. It's odd but even after all these years, often when I now get up in the morning, my eyes still go to the foot of the bed to see her! She is now 11 and weights 75lbs...have had to substitute with a small teddy bear!!!
